Guide 2012 - João Paulo Martins
Miogo
White 2007 - Tasting of 2010. The bubble is of medium
dimension and it is more persistent than the previous harvest. In the nose, it
shows notes of fresh fruit and some vegetal, in a medium sized register, but
pleasant to taste. The notes are repeated in the mouth with a good acidity that gives freshness the
ensemble. Good as an aperitif or accompanying a meal. Well done set and
deserving of attention.
Tapada
dos Monges Alvarinho 2009 - Tasting of 2010. The wine accentuates the more
mineral and veggie character of the grape variety rather than the notes of
citrus fruit. Wines like this are usually more enjoyed with meals than off the
table. Good volume in the mouth, acidity perfectly integrated in the ensemble, here
is a gastronomic wine, rather to drink that to converse.
Tapada
dos Monges Loureiro 2010 - Slightly fruity, with hints of ripe apple in the
aroma that repeats in the mouth, slight tropical in a more technological white
than most. Correct ensemble that’s lacking a bit of sparkle.
Tapada
dos Monges Tinto 2009 - Tasting of 2010. Dark, rich color, in the aroma
it shows a strong chemical note and very ripe fruit, all in a powerful register
but that reveals enological care in providing a wine that doesn’t pull
consumers away. The wine has body, slight CO2, but with tamed tannins that ease
the tasting. Wine for strong dishes.
